Sacred Paschal Vigil (EF)

Today is Holy Saturday, the day on which Our Lord's body lay in the tomb and Our Lord's soul descended to the realm of the dead. Today, the Church awaits the resurrection and so there is no Mass until the Sacred Paschal Vigil which takes places after sunset. At this time, the holy people of God sit at the tomb and await the Resurrection.
