Ember Saturday of Pentecost (EF)

This Saturday is the last of the ember days and it is also the last day properly speaking of Paschaltide (or Paschal time). Hence, today is the last day where every antiphon ends in the cry of joy that bears no translation: "Alleluia!" It is also the last day on which the Pentecost Sequence is sung.

Caritas Dei diffusa est in cordibus nostris, alleluia: per inhabitantem Spiritum ejus in nobis, alleluia, alleluia.
— Missale Romanum (1962); cf. Rom. 5:5

Ant. The charity of God is poured forth into our hearts, alleluia, by His Spirit dwelling in us, alleluia, alleluia.

— Missale Romanum (1962); cf. Jn. 3:8

Ant. The Spirit breaths where He wills, and thou hearest His voice, alleluia, alleluia; but thou knowest not whence He comes, nor where He goes, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
