Annunciation Mass Propers with Alleluias (English)

annunciation-fraAngelico.jpg

Today is the (transferred) Solemnity of the Annunciation - the day on which the Archangel Gabriel appeared to Our Lady and announced that she would conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and bear the Savior of the world. Today "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." Normally, this feast is celebrated on March 25 (9 months before Christmas). However, when March 25 takes place during Holy Week or the Paschal Octave as it did this year, it is transferred to the Monday following Low Sunday. This makes the Annunciation take place during Paschaltide and so all of the antiphons have alleluias!
